THERE are many myths surrounding Lady Thatcher’s premiership, however, “mismanagement of the economy” as Jeremy Whiting suggests (HAS, May 16), is not one future historians will support.
There can be no doubt that the “Thatcher era” marked a decisive turning point in this country’s history. It altered British political and economic reality permanently, generally for the better.
Mr Whiting goes on to accept redundancy as a part of life which cannot “always be blamed on the government”.
Am I right in assuming this to mean anything that happens under the Tories is a direct result of Tory policy, however, anything that happens under Labour is as a result of unfortunate circumstances beyond their control?
