THE Scottish National Party have stated that it will be asking for a referendum on independence for Scotland within the term of the newly elected parliament for Scotland.
However, SNP leader Alex Salmond, has stated that in the event of a referendum returning a “yes” vote he will not be seeking to implement the move to independence until the economic climate is more favourable.
In other words, not until they have screwed even more financial gain than they already have out of the UK Parliament.
A great Scotsman, Robert Burns, summed up their attitude in his poem “Fareweel to a’ our scottish fame” written many years ago.
The final lines of this poem are: But pith and power, till my last hour, I’ll mak this declaration; We’re bought and sold for English gold- Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!
No change there then.
