DW LACEY criticises another HAS correspondent for his pathological hatred of all things Tory (HAS, May 12).

I have a pathological hatred of the damage that the Tories do.

Now, I accept that redundancy is a fact of life, for which the Government cannot always be blamed.

However, if a homeowner cannot pay the mortgage due to loss of employment, one option should be to sell the property.

Under Mrs Thatcher, however, too many people in this position were unable to do this because mismanagement of the economy had caused house values to drop.

I used to have no involvement in politics, until I found myself in this position.

I narrowly avoided repossession by uprooting myself and moving 300 miles for another job.

It has also been suggested in HAS recently that if people didn’t vote tribally, then we would have better government. I don’t vote tribally, I vote against the party which ruined my life.

This is the same party which seems set to ruin many other peoples’ lives by instigating cuts in public spending far beyond what is necessary.
