I’M not sure how “secret” Lee Evans’s show could be when 450 North-East people enjoyed seeing the biggest comedy star to play Stockton’s ARC since the building opened in 1999.
Evans has already sold out three nights at the massive MetroRadio Arena in Newcastle in October and just added a fourth, so it was a massive display of faith that he chose the region to test-drive his new Roadrunner stand-up at Durham’s Gala Theatre, on Tuesday, and the ARC.
Congratulations are due to both venues, the “secret” tour organisers and Lee Evans himself for lifting the profile of our region and showing the UK that the North-East really knows how to have a good laugh.
Evans added another extraordinary chapter to the history of North-East entertainment.
