I URGE Eating Owt columnist Mike Amos to revisit the George and Dragon at Heighington, near Darlington, at the earliest opportunity following his column of October 30.
My husband and I have eaten there on many occasions and have nothing but praise for the delicious food served. My particular favourite is the pork cooked two ways – big succulent slices of pork loin with belly pork which has perfect crackling.
The atmosphere is superb and the staff are pleasant, polite and extremely helpful.
As for Archie the dog, he is well behaved and adds character to the village pub. I urge the uninitiated to book as soon as possible. They won’t be disappointed.
