British Rail is still in a mess because of privatisation. It proves privatisation does not run things smoothly.
What else is to be privatised? Is there anything left?
Finally, I see that the new luxury 49,000-tonne P&O ferry, the Spirit of Britain, had its seven-cylinder diesel engines built in Germany. What on earth has happened to British manufacturing? Once, we led the world in this sort of thing.
