AM I alone in thinking North Yorkshire County Council is out of control and out of touch with reality?
Is it reasonable to ignore the results of public consultation and go ahead with closures of schools and libraries regardless?
Or is this a demonstration of the council’s contempt for the community and our needs and wishes?
I propose people express their lack of confidence in this failed institution.
We need to do something about the shambles by asking competent members of the community to put themselves forward for election. Party politics have facilitated the failures we need to remedy.
We also need to build and maintain a closer working relationship between the council and the communities whose needs it serves.
All councils must cut back their excessive running costs and get back to their prime purpose of providing high-quality essential services.
