I WONDER if any of our politicians do any serious homework?
In 2008 we had fumbling Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, now the Deputy Prime Minister, who, during a speech entitled “connecting with people” thought a retired person’s pension was just £30.
Not to be outdone, earlier this year Alan Johnson, who resigned last night as Labour’s Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, did not have a clue what the current rate of National Insurance was.
And, to round it off, last week Fisheries Minister Richard Benyon was certainly put in his “plaice” after being able to identify only three out of 12 of Britain’s most common fish!
His answers were codswallop.
And these are the type of brains of Britain who are running this country.
