I WAS interested in the article about a discount fuel plan in The Northern Echo on January 17.
Well, strangely enough, it isn’t only remote areas that suffer high fuel prices.
Just check out the prices at Leeming Bar services and Wetherby services. They are about the highest I have seen, and they are not in remote areas.
Instead of wasting money investigating how to go about reducing fuel prices, why doesn’t the Government admit that fuel tax is too high and reduce it so that everyone benefits.
Obviously that won’t happen anytime soon because fuel tax is the Government’s licence to print money.
Presumably the ministerial Jaguars are paid for by taxpayers so ministers are immune from the running costs for these cars.
Don’t forget though, we are all in it together. Yeah, right.
