I KNOW and appreciate councillor Ben Ord’s long history of campaigning for new jobs for the North-East (HAS, Jan 12).
However, I also know that throughout Britain every council has people working together to bring jobs to their constituencies.
But at a time when people are either dealing with or facing unemployment, too many councillors and unelected representatives are focusing on playing the blame game.
This makes for an interesting debate, but ultimately helps no one, widens divisions and leaves people feeling as if they’ve been forgotten.
Therefore the purpose of my recent letter (HAS, Jan 10) was to not cause offence to Councillor Ord, but rather to remind such individuals that it’s not all about Westminster.
They need to remind those people they represent of the fact that local political parties of all persuasions are working together to try and bring jobs to local people.
