PERHAPS if the participants in the job creation summit started by promising to source the majority of their goods in the UK they might go some way to creating real jobs for the people of Britain.

The jobs they are proposing to create in the service industry only replace jobs lost from small businesses.

When big retailers move into new areas, the small family businesses have to close, and jobs are lost.

We need to make things for ourselves and to export in order to create permanent jobs and profit. When this happens we will create a better, more balanced economy.
