AS a customer of npower for 32 years I was somewhat perplexed how customers could be due a rebate. I thought it’s not Christmas until December – then all became clear.

Energy regulator Ofgem has found that npower has overcharged customers by a mere £63m (Echo, Oct 2). How can this company expect to get away with overcharging loyal customers this massive amount of money?

Surely these customers should also have a slice of the interest accrued on the £63m. I am curious to know what the interest would be on a daily rate for this amount.

I am also curious to know that if this “error” (to be mild about it) had not been discovered by the regulatory body, then how much more would have been made and who would have known the company had made it?
