FOLLOWING last month’s extremely successful tree planting at Low Burnhall, on the outskirts of Durham (Echo, some editions, April 2), the Woodland Trust now needs a volunteer speaker to keep alive all the interest we’ve generated.
We’re looking for someone who is ideally resident in – or near – Durham, and who would be willing to give a number of talks over the year to a wide range of groups wanting to learn more about the trust’s work in the region.
A bit of experience of speaking in public would be an advantage, but more important is enthusiasm and a love of trees. We have a considerable network of regional speakers, so whoever steps forward will get plenty of support, a bit of training and, dare we say it, expenses.
For more information, please visit woodlandtrust.org.uk/talks or email vsmail@woodland trust.org.uk for an application form.
Chris Potter, Media Volunteer, Woodland Trust, Hexham.
