IT appears that my nearest collecting point for good, clean clothing for the people of Haiti is at Richmond, North Yorkshire, and that charity shops here in Darlington have not made any such arrangements.
Some people may not be in a position to give money, but still wish to help the people of Haiti – many of whom have lost everything.
Cannot the charity shops get some scheme working or, if they cannot do so, could not our town hall step into the breech?
The people of Haiti will need help for some time even after the disaster has left our television screens.
John W Antill, Darlington.
