THE Winter Freeze Tonight report on ITV last Thursday gave a good example of how in Finland they cope with the severe winter conditions on their roads, how they keep their airports open throughout much more wintry conditions than ours and how their government spends heavily on making sure the transport system does not grind to a stop like ours.
However, the reporter ended by stating how “we” will have to invest greatly to come to this standard. Should the reporter not have said the British Government will have to invest instead of “we” which implies the poor British motorist who is taxed at the drop of a hat by our Government at the first opportunity?
