I WOULD like to thank Harry Mead for his column (Echo, Jan 13) in which he drew attention to the state of the footpaths in Stokesley High Street during the recent snowy weather – some of them were in an appalling state.
He gives credit to the staff of Grainge’s greengrocers for their efforts in clearing their “front”, and rightly so.
May I add to this the thanks of myself and many other elderly folk to Trevor Thomas, of the Fish Shop, and to the manager (sorry, I do not know his name) of the Spar Shop next door. Each morning, Trevor and he worked to make safe access to their premises. Thank you, gentlemen.
Irene Ridley, Stokesley.
