ON November 9, I wrote to Durham County Council with regards to it allocating social housing under its new Choice-based Lettings Scheme.
I wanted to know for the constituents of North Durham what the council’s new criteria under this scheme would be, including a full description of the priority groups, how people would be placed into these priority groups and the criteria prior to this scheme being adopted.
It is British National Party policy that local housing should primarily be allocated to local people as it is those local people’s families that have created the communities to which they belong.
To date, I have not received any response from the council to my reasonable request and it has left me wondering if the authority has something to hide.
