I READ Kerry Siddle’s letter (HAS, Jan 1) regarding Bishop Auckland BNP parliamentary candidate Adam Walker with interest. Only a few months earlier, I had occasion to approach Mr Walker after he had posted his vile literature through my letterbox.
I followed him down my drive, trying to attract his attention with the words “Excuse me”, only to be ignored. I continued to follow him up the street, all the while attempting to catch his attention in a reasonable manner. There was no question of me not being heard, but certainly a case of him simply refusing to acknowledge me.
When I did draw level with him and told him I did not want his leaflet his answer was: “I don’t take stuff back mate, I just deliver.”
He then walked away with a laugh and certainly without any attempt to engage me regarding BNP policy.
Is this the action of someone who expects to be taken seriously as a prospective parliamentary candidate?

WITH reference to BNP parliamentary candidate Adam Walker’s reply (HAS, Jan 5) to my previous letter (HAS, Jan 1), I have no desire to discuss the finer points of the BNP manifesto. My time would be better spent gargling razor blades.
Furthermore, I felt sure my dressing gown would have been to his taste, it being white and British-made.
In future, Mrs Siddle would kindly request that Mr Walker refrain from posting BNP leaflets through her letterbox. I hope this fulfils his request for “a reasonable adult manner”.
