CONTRARY to Carl Brunskill’s views about the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing programme (HAS, Dec 29) I think it was fairer to let the audience vote.
It was obvious that the judges were not going to let BBC sports presenter Chris Hollins win, no matter how he improved.
If he got his feet right, they complained about his face. If he got his face right, they complained about his hands. He never went to drama school or had any dance or acting training, yet he became an accomplished dancer and a great entertainer.
If dancing is to be the only criteria, then you might as well just have the professionals competing. He got my vote as the eventual winner as he made me feel good and not because he is a BBC employee.
