I HAD to send this good news story to you. I am confined to a wheelchair and on Christmas Eve, at about 5.45pm, I was on my way to Darlington railway station to catch a train to Bishop Auckland.
While on my way, I got stuck in the snow near the traffic lights on Yarm Road and Hundens Lane. A police car passed and they saw me in some difficulty and got out and pushed me.
We then decided it would be better if I went onto the road.
They stopped all the traffic for me and drove behind me with the blue lights on (a bit embarrassed at the time) until I got to the station.
During this festive time I just wanted to say a big thank-you because it was a really nice thing they did in helping me that night. I know my parents were overjoyed – while laughing at my predicament.
Unfortunately, I do not know who the officers were. Thank you anyway.
Also, I wanted to say a big thank you to my friend, Dale Sanderson, who also came out to help.
Jamie Dennis, Darlington.
