WHILE I agree with most of the wording in your story about the unveiling of a mosaic to the late Redcar MP Mo Mowlam (Echo, Oct 24), I do contest the implication that the weather was bad – ie, that people attending “braved high winds”.
It was a beautifully sunny October afternoon in which Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council not only paid tribute to our marvellous Mo Mowlam, but there was the splendid opening of the Coatham Boating Lake on the same site.
As one Redcar resident said at the time: “A fantastic day. Some summer days aren’t as nice as this.”
Councillor George R Dunning, Leader, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.
