TODAY is another day in the World March for Peace and Non-Violence. I wonder how many people know about this event?

The march started in New Zealand on October 2, will cross six continents and 104 countries in 92 days, concluding in Argentina on January 2.

Its aims include ridding the world of nuclear weapons and renouncing the use of war as a means of conflict resolution (see worldmarch.org for more information).

Members of Peace Action Durham will be showing their support for this march with a presence in Durham Market Place on Saturday, November 7, from 10.30am.

Activities will include availability of white poppies to support the educational work of the Peace Pledge Union, and also “Draw Not War” where everyone can make their own contribution to a collection of drawings or statements inspired by the march and its aims.

We invite everyone to join us on November 7 in wearing red poppies for Remembrance alongside white poppies to convey hope for a more peaceful world, and in support of the World March for Peace and Non-Violence.
