IT is all very well bemoaning the loss of free bus passes if David Cameron becomes Prime Minister (HAS, October 21) but in September Gordon Brown borrowed £14.8bn in order to keep up the pretence that every thing is under control.

That makes it £77.3bin for the first six months of the financial year. At some point in the future we will have to start paying this borrowing back. If we cannot manage to do that, we will lose much more than free bus passes.

Surely it is better to be told the truth by Cameron than be fooled by Brown?
