CITIZENS of Durham who wish to have Lord Londonderry left where he is following restoration (I have yet to meet anyone who opposes this) will be interested to learn that Durham City Vision has already spent £478,000 on this project. (The figure was obtained last week via the Freedom of Information Act.) Can anyone see evidence of nearly half a million pounds expenditure on the Market Place and Vennels?
Please spend the millions allocated to the Heart of the City project first on improving the surface of the Market Place and the Vennels, then any funds left should go to North Road and Claypath.
