I WAS really pleased to see that Eastern Airways is to start flights to Southampton from Durham Tees Valley Airport in November (Echo, Oct 9), especially after my previous correspondence (HAS, Mar 23, 25 and 27) with regard to flights I have taken over the years and the direction I hoped the airport will go.

Although Eastern mainly caters for the business traveller, I certainly intend trying this route out. It will be a quick and convenient way of getting down South, and with the price of petrol as it is the fares certainly look reasonable if booked in advance. I wish Eastern every success with this new route.
