CAN somebody please explain the obsession of some drivers with driving around with headlights on in the middle of the day?

It is unnecessary, inconsiderate, distracting and in some cases actually dangerous.

Recently, I was followed by a car with four front lights on.

There was low sun in front and the driver had his sun visor down and was wearing sun glasses.

With many modern cars that have light clusters it is very often difficult to see indicators past the lights. I have no doubt that I will get replies telling me that it makes for better visibility and therefore increasing safety.

I wonder if that will be the person who came past me on a 30mph stretch of Coniscliffe Road, Darlington, at about 50mph last week? After all, he had his headlights on.

GN Bull, Darlington.
