TOO many people with too many faces – that’s my reasoning as to why the Labour Party is in such a mess today.
I was a member for 28 years until I had to resign recently. I served on Chester-le-Street District Council as a councillor from 1990-2007, so I think I have some idea as to what is going on.
There are too many in it for what they can get out of it. How else can you explain someone telling you he doesn’t believe in it, doesn’t want it. It would be morally wrong to accept it and yet ends up leading it – poorly, judging by the letters to HAS.
It’s the new Durham County Council I’m talking about, its new leader, Councillor Simon Henig, and other members who canvassed against it. What kind of confidence and trust can the public have?
DS Meek, Daisy Hill, Sacriston, Co Durham.
