WE should all know by now that the Labour leader of Durham County Council, Councillor Simon Henig and company, will do their will and will not listen to the common sense wishes of the people who put them in office. They must know best.
We are making a fuss about the changeover of the Durham park-and-ride contract to Arriva, but I think that the decision to award the contract regardless of any objections by us, the public, was already made for us by the council cabinet long before any of their findings were published.
I totally agreed with the comments of Eva Stainsby and Christine Cook (HAS, both June 16). We need to remember when the next council elections take place as to who we favour with our votes.
What a shambles the new authority is under the present regime; it is so dictatorial.
Malcolm Gibb, Bearpark, Durham.
