I WAS interested to read about Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the Titanic, whose funeral took place last Tuesday (Echo, June 17).
Though only nine weeks old at the time of the disaster, Miss Dean’s story is still a fascinating one.
She died at the age of 97 and for Hollywood luminaries Kate Winslet, Leonardo Di Caprio and James Cameron – stars and director of the film Titanic – to donate money for her care home fees was a splendid thing to do.
There will always be interest in events surrounding the Titanic, as its sinking was regarded as impossible.
