I READ your article regarding Thirsk railway station being a disgrace for the disabled person (Echo, some editions, May 9). I am confined to a wheelchair and must say that the whole of Thirsk is a disgrace regarding accessible areas.
On a recent visit to the town I could not gain access to any eating establishment and I was treated with a couldn’t care less attitude. It appears that Thirsk completely ignores the Disability Discrimination Act laws.
