JUST who is this Lord Mandelson? There used to be an MP for Hartlepool called Peter Mandelson who was given several Cabinet posts by his mate, Tony Blair, from which he was forced to resign due to his financial dealings. I seem to recall his “I’m not a quitter, I’m a fighter” speech just before he quit to take an overseas job.
Surely it cannot be the same man? After all, which member of the Labour Party would accept elevation to the “unelected, undemocratic and unaccountable” House of Lords?
Would this not be gross hypocrisy on their part?
Yet we have a “Lord Mandelson” given a Cabinet job, with no doubt a high salary and pension, speaking on behalf of the Government and the Labour Party – one and the same thing in their own eyes.
I ask again: just who is this unelected person? And why should we have to put up with him?
