IS there no justice in this world?
We now find that Andy Hornby, who was in charge of HBOS when the bank was on the brink of collapse, has been made chief executive of Boots (Business Echo, June 9). This must make its shareholders and employees sleep easier at night.
If he was the best of the applicants for the job, the rest of the shortlist must have been a right bunch of dummies and thickos – and their CVs must make for interesting reading.
If there was any justice, this man would only have been allowed to do a job for minimum wage. There must be thousands of men of his age who have done a good job all their lives and who, after being made redundant, will never work again.
