WHILE Gordon Brown is having his final drink in the Last Chance Saloon, may I suggest he has one last throw of the dice by doing the following:

● return the 10p tax band;

● make the gas companies drop their prices to a level that is acceptable;

● give the pensioners of this country a decent pay rise.

By doing this he may prevent death by a thousand cuts – because the man waiting to take his place, David Cameron, and his cronies, do not fill one’s heart with much hope.
