I NOTICE that Christopher Wardell was anxious to clarify the correct way to spell and pronounce his surname (HAS, June 3).
That apart, I suggest a more accurate description of this publicity-seeking idiot would be Don Quixote but, sadly, there is a shortage of windmills in the Darlington area.
It is obvious that the remarks which I previously used about him (HAS, May 8) have not pleased him as he has quoted the words “idiot” and “pest”, which I considered to be very accurate.
Perhaps a more suitable description would be “barmy twit”.
In his reply to my previous letter, he uses the words “boring and fuddy-duddy” as descriptions of people who dare to question or in answer to his twaddle.
Also, his teachers who called him “idiot” and “pest” when he “suffered from spasms of lunacy in the classroom” were not only accurate, but truly far-seeing.
In short, he himself is a boring, fuddy-duddy rather than his own description as a “normal, down-to-earth chap”. If that is so, then I am Fanny the Fan Dancer.
Finally, my sympathy to Boris Danavic, who drinks “in town” with him. Whether he does or not – who cares?
