I AM somewhat fed up and appalled by the increasing numbers of so-called cyclists riding on pavements. Such people give true cyclists a bad name.

It is against the law to ride on pavements and the penalties are severe. About ten years ago it was £500, and for dangerous riding £2,000.

I have ridden more than 250,000 miles in my lifetime and there are many more like me who will never ride on pavements.

I appeal to the police to enforce the law and put a stop to the law-breakers and return the pavements to the pedestrians, ensuring their safety.
