I WAS appalled to hear in the news quite recently that the massive number of potholes in Britain’s roads are costing drivers an amazing £2.8bn in repairs each year.
How can the Government be so shameless as to not deal with the problem? It should be consigned to the flames on this one issue alone.
However, let’s spare a thought for the nation’s humble cyclists.
Many of us also collide with potholes and incur costly damage.
Only last month, I hit a monster of a pothole while cycling on a local road. Yes you’ve guessed it – a flat tyre and a repair bill.
Exactly the same thing happened to a close friend of mine, but, unlike me, he fell off his bike and suffered a badly sprained ankle.
