DIDN’T Margaret Thatcher do well when she was Minister of Pensions by stopping pensions from increasing with the cost of living?
When she became Prime Minister, she destroyed the mining, shipbuilding and steel industries.
She ran schools, the NHS and the transport system into the ground because of no investment. Then she sold the railways.
She did away with affordable housing by giving away council houses cheaply. She stopped children from getting free school milk. She made millions redundant and thousands lost their homes.
Crime went up because she had all the police on the picket lines.
And don’t forget she took this country to war and some people lost their sons, mainly to save some sheep. Meanwhile, her son was selling weapons to other countries.
The Government is able to decide who can have a state funeral but thank the Lord that it is unable to decide which way one goes at the end of their days.
This woman is not for turning.
I say woman because no lady would have done what she did.
One can understand why Gordon Brown invited Mrs Thatcher to No 10 – they are like peas in a pod.
