WITH reference to an article about more consideration for cyclists (Echo, Apr 30), I think it is time someone stood up for pedestrians and motorists.
Darlington has become a town obsessed with catering for lunatic cyclists, who, regardless of cycle paths provided for them, insist on using the pavements, and totally ignore things called traffic lights.
True cyclists ride with care and attention, as does my brother-inlaw, who is a member of the Cyclists Touring Club, an organisation for cyclists and their safety.
Perhaps the lunatic mountain bike brigade could take a leaf out of their book and give more care and consideration to people who wish to walk in safety, and to be able to drive without losing the wing mirrors, along with verbal abuse, which is often hurled at poor pedestrians! – GM Collingwood, Darlington.
