ONCE again we are being asked to vote, on June 4, for the person who we would like to send on the first class gravy train known as the European Parliament.
Gordon Brown will be taking particular note of the result since if he holds onto the premiership until the next General Election he is on a certain winner.
Should New Labour win the election, then he will return to 10 Downing Street. Should New Labour not be successful, then he is sure to be appointed a Commissioner at the European Parliament as a reward for failure, just like former Labour leader Neil Kinnock, who never made it to Downing Street.
Like most Britons, I will not turn out to vote.
John W Antill, Darlington.
