I WAS fascinated to read about the mysterious lights that were filmed flying over Darlington recently by a member of the public (Echo, April 28).
I managed to watch the footage on The Northern Echo website, and I was truly astonished.
In your report, UFO expert Nick Pope said that the lights may be “Chinese lanterns” – small balloons with a burner underneath that are increasingly let off at parties – but I disagree.
I strongly believe that these lights in the sky were alien spacecraft, due to the V-formation they were flying in.
I am not quite sure what these visitors from afar want with Darlington, but I hope they do not read Hear All Sides, as they may have come to take me away.
Christopher Wardell, Darlington.
