ONE will never quite understand the British media. Firstly, they go to the extreme, spreading fear throughout the country of a new flu pandemic and the next day the headlines read: “Don’t panic”.
If there ever was a more definite description of counter-production, this is surely it. We all realise that the sensible thing is to warn the public of any dangers, but without creating an unnecessary panic.
