RE the Budget’s 50p tax rate from next April on those who earn more than £150,000.
Most high earners can afford to employ accountants/financial experts to offset their legitimate contributions.
Politicians argue that expenses/allowances have been introduced to offset salary increases they may have been entitled to.
Please increase their salary to £150,005, cancel all benefits and then take 50 per cent back in tax for the benefit of the country, unless they prefer allowances (tax-free) to a salary increase.
Perhaps the only honest taxpayers are the working population on PAYE and, of course, the pensioners.
