RE correspondent Peter Armon’s letter about Virgin Media charging an extra £1.25 per month for payment by paper bills as opposed to ebills and his 92-year-old mother-in-law not owning a computer (HAS, April 10).
Mr Armon may be aware that the original cable TV supplier (be it Comcast, ntl or Telewest) provided internet access via TV.
This negated the requirement for web users to own a computer.
It is a source of regret that Virgin Media withdrew such a facility. Perhaps like-minded users of the original service will attempt to persuade the current cable operator to reinstall the feature.
