I SHARE Catherine Davison’s distaste of music being played everywhere (HAS, April 10), including restaurants, doctors’ surgeries, shops, etc. I feel it is quite unnecessary and an intrusion – quite off-putting.
Several years ago I joined Pipedown, a national organisation that is opposed to this practice and campaigns against it. I hope it is still working on it and I wish it success.
Unlike your correspondent, however, I know I am an old fuddy-duddy.
Councillor Malcolm Dunstone, Darlington Borough Council.
