CORRESPONDENT Charles Snowdon (HAS, April 4) criticised members of Durham Police Authority for being “money-grabbers” in voting for their own increase in the annual allowances to which they are entitled.
He and other readers may be interested to know that prior to the meeting where that decision was taken, several members of the authority, including myself, agreed to write to the treasurer of the police authority informing him that we would not be claiming any increased allowance.
