AS a bus user in Darlington (Arriva) I can fully sympathise with those in the Durham area who have written to HAS recently objecting to Durham County Council’s decision to change the city’s park-and-ride operator from Scarlet Band to Arriva.
By chance, my eye was caught by a small article in a trade magazine, which states that there is currently an Office of Fair Trading (OFT) investigation into bus services, as well as the tender process for contracts and if this is effective.
You all have until May 8 to advise the OFT of your doubts at localbusmarketstudy@oft.gsi.

I HAVE to admit to being one person looking forward to the operation of Durham City’s park-and-ride service by Arriva Durham County, and sampling their (the country’s finest) working Public Transport Museum Vehicles.
