EVERYONE in Darlington and the Tees Valley will be delighted at the promising news that 750, or perhaps 1,000, jobs will be coming to Darlington and a large number to Teesport over the forthcoming years.

This should have a very positive effect on the numbers of unemployed people in these and surrounding towns and benefit other employers and employees in the chain.

I would like to see numbers of the unemployed in each town published in the Northern Echo regularly with percentages and comparisons across our region and nationally.

I do not see these statistics normally and believe they would form useful knowledge to your readers and give encouragement and hope to those not working at present.
