I WENT to post a letter today only to find the mouth of the post box sealed over saying no collection until October 9.

Overall, I think the postal service does a fairly good job.

However, I read on the post box that as from October 28 there will no longer be collections on a Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Obviously, this cut-back was not news worthy: the Post Office is continuing to close post offices.

I think the postal workers are cutting their own throats by striking, as it could lead to a break up of the postal service as we know it. Perhaps this is what the Government wants: a perfect excuse to open the delivery of letters to individual companies.
