WE have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Florida. Our son Dale, a Royal Marine Commando, and his girlfriend Ria, a medic in the Royal Navy, went with us.

The welcome our service personnel receive in America is unbelievable and certainly puts our own country to shame. Almost every shop gave an excellent discount on goods bought and the theme parks allowed military personnel and their families through the gates ahead of anyone else.

Isn't it about time our Government recognised these men and women and give them a little bit back for the hard work they put in?
