I WAS appalled at the latest New Labour proposal to make public school playing fields available to state school pupils and make public school teachers coach state pupils to get them to Oxbridge.
Having spent a small fortune educating three children at public schools and considered every penny to have been well spent, I cannot understand why the parents of state school pupils who want to enjoy the benefits of public schools do not spend their money on sending them there.
